- A short questionnaire that employees can complete quickly

- It points to concrete levers: workload distribution, room for manoeuvre, managerial support

Karasek questionnaire FAQ
What is the Karasek questionnaire?
The Karasek questionnaire (Job Content Questionnaire) measures three dimensions of work: psychological demands, decision latitude and social support. It assesses the level of job strain and identifies situations that put health at risk.
How many questions does the Karasek questionnaire have?
The most widely used French version has 26 items: 9 on psychological demands, 9 on decision latitude and 8 on social support. It takes only a few minutes to complete.
What is “job strain”?
Job strain is the combination of high psychological demands and low decision latitude. When it comes with low social support, it is called iso-strain.
Is the Karasek questionnaire enough to assess psychosocial risks?
It is an excellent starting point for measuring workplace stress, but it does not cover every psychosocial risk factor (value conflicts, job insecurity, recognition…). IROBII can complement it with other validated surveys as needed.
Can the employer see individual results?
No. Only results aggregated by team are shared with the employer, to protect employee anonymity.
